James Maslek

James Maslek is the Founder and COO at OpenBB. Previously, they were a Xerox Engineering Fellow at the University of Rochester, Student Assistant at the University of Rochester LLE, and WORTHY Intern at Northrop Grumman Corporation.

James Maslek has always been interested in engineering and technology. James pursued this interest by getting their degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. After graduating, they became a Xerox Engineering Fellow at the University of Rochester. In this role, they participated in a two month research program and worked on various projects dealing with the testing of optical equipment. James then took on the role of Student Assistant, where they worked specifically on diffraction efficiency. After gaining valuable experience in the industry, James became a WORTHY Intern at Northrop Grumman Corporation. As a WORTHY intern, they worked on year-long projects with two mentors and participated in team projects over the summer. These experiences led him to their current role as Founder and COO at OpenBB.

James Maslek studied optics and physics as an undergraduate at the University of Rochester. James then went on to earn their PhD in physics from the University of Maryland.

Their manager is Didier Rodrigues Lopes, Founder & CEO. Some of their coworkers include Mark Rosenblum - Head of Partnerships, Betty Kayton - CFO.
