Michael Struwig, PhD, is an experienced professional in the field of artificial intelligence and data science, currently serving as the Head of Artificial Intelligence at OpenBB since November 2023. Prior to this role, Michael was the Chief Executive Officer at Hudson & Thames Quantitative Research and a Senior Backend Engineer at Primer, where responsibilities included system design and payment processor integrations. Michael's extensive background includes serving as a Technical Lead and Data Scientist at Praelexis, focusing on personalized healthcare and machine learning. Educationally, Michael holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stellenbosch University, as well as multiple degrees in the same field from esteemed institutions, including a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor's degree.
