Shay Abbasi

Shay Abbasi's work experience began in 2008 with roles as an R&D Engineer at Marshall Radio Telemetry, Inc. and Blackrock Microsystems. In 2009, they became a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah, where they worked until 2014. Following this, Shay joined Care Medical LLC as an Electrical Engineer from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, they founded AgPlexus, a startup focused on developing a cloud-based IoT platform for farms. In this role, Shay led design and development, resulting in a patent for a grain conditioning system. Currently, Shay is working as a Senior Engineer at Opener, starting in May 2023.

Shay Abbasi has a strong education background in computer engineering and electrical and computer engineering. From 2007 to 2009, they attended the University of Utah and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Following this, they pursued further education and completed a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah from 2009 to 2011. Finally, from 2011 to 2015, they embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy/Ph.D. program in Computer Engineering at the University of Utah, although the degree remains incomplete.
