Scientific Developer, Cheminformatics at OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences

Hitesh Patel has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Hitesh recently joined OpenEye, Cadence Molecular Sciences in April 2021 as a Scientific Developer, specializing in Cheminformatics. Prior to this, Hitesh worked at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Postdoctoral Fellow from June 2016 to March 2021. Hitesh also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at TU Dortmund from November 2014 to May 2016, conducting research in their area of expertise. Hitesh gained research experience as a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics from May 2010 to September 2010. Hitesh started their career as a Junior Research Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University from July 2009 to April 2010.

Hitesh Patel has a comprehensive education history that includes multiple degrees in pharmacoinformatics and chemoinformatics. From 2003 to 2007, they attended Nirma University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Science. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Pharmacoinformatics from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in SAS Nagar, Mohali, from 2007 to 2009. During their studies at NIPER, Hitesh Patel focused on machine learning methods, bioinformatics, and chemoinformatics. Lastly, from 2010 to 2014, they continued their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cheminformatics and Computer Aided Drug Design from The University of Freiburg. This extensive educational background showcases Hitesh Patel's expertise and commitment to specialized fields in the pharmaceutical industry.
