Hugh Williams

Hugh Williams has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Hugh began their career as a Trainee Civil Engineer at Sir Robert McAlpine in 1982, where they worked for a year. In 1986, they joined TechNorth Training Centre as a Training Supervisor, providing IT training in computing and electronics to the local community. During their time there, they also created training material for courses. In 1991, Hugh moved to Granada Computer Services as a Customer Service Engineer, where they provided on-site maintenance and support for computer hardware, as well as first-line telephone support for troubleshooting customer problems. Hugh stayed with Granada Computer Services until 1993. From 1994 onwards, Hugh joined OpenLink Software, where they held multiple roles. Hugh served as a Director, overseeing the company's operations, and as a Professional Services consultant, providing consultancy and support services for the company's database server and data access driver products. Hugh was also responsible for quality assurance testing of OpenLink's products.

Hugh Williams attended Charlestown Secondary School in Nevis, West Indies from 1975 to 1980. Hugh then pursued their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Aston in Birmingham from 1983 to 1986. After completing their undergraduate degree, Hugh went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at Imperial College, University of London, from 1989 to 1990.
