Emily Gonyer

Emily Gonyer is an experienced contributor to open-source projects, actively contributing to the openSUSE Project since February 2021 and to Ubuntu since September 2013. In these roles, Emily focuses on writing and editing Ubuntu Weekly News, proofreading Full Circle Magazine, reporting bugs, and educating children on Ubuntu and free software. Previous involvement includes serving on the GNOME Foundation's Engagement Team from November 2011 to January 2018, where Emily wrote news releases and reports, and represented GNOME at conferences and hackfests. Emily also completed internships and held leadership positions in various organizations, including founding Carrollton Community Martial Arts and managing horse barns at multiple camps. Educational qualifications include an Associate's degree in Backcountry Horsemanship and Natural Resource Management from Hocking College, along with certificates in Spanish from Universidad de Salamanca.
