Katie Gamanji

Katie Gamanji has a diverse range of work experience in various companies and roles. Katie is currently employed at Apple as a Senior Kubernetes Field Engineer. Prior to this, they worked at CNCF as a member of the Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) and as an Ecosystem Advocate, where they led the End User Community and launched the End User Lounge. Katie also held the position of Chief Future Founders at OpenUK and served as an Ambassador, Head Awards Judge, and Awards Judge. Katie was a Course Instructor at Udacity and a Member of the Board of Advisors at Keptn, a CNCF sandbox project. Additionally, they worked as a Technical Reviewer at O'Reilly Media, a Cloud Platform Engineer at American Express and Condé Nast International, and as a Course Instructor at Code First: Girls. Katie started their professional journey as an Infrastructure Automation Engineer at Paddy Power Betfair, where they supported the operational running of the site and automated delivery pipelines.

Katie Gamanji obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Essex, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications and participated in several speaking engagements related to Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. These certifications and engagements were conducted by The Linux Foundation, and they include being a speaker or keynote speaker at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon events in North America, Europe, and Japan. Katie also developed an exam for the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate certification and obtained the CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) certification.
