Barry Farrimond-Chuong

Barry Farrimond-Chuong MBE is an accomplished leader in the field of music and accessibility, currently serving as the CEO of both the National Open Youth Orchestra and Open Up Music. Under Barry's leadership, the National Open Youth Orchestra became the world's first disabled-led national youth orchestra, providing talented young disabled musicians with essential musical opportunities. Open Up Music, established in 2007, has significantly contributed to the development of marginalized young musicians through innovative programs that address inequality and foster creativity. In addition to orchestral leadership, Barry is a voice artist on BBC Radio 4's "The Archers," portraying the character Ed Grundy, and previously held the position of Technical Director for the MUSE Project CIC, focusing on multimedia experiences for children with special educational needs. Barry's educational background includes a BA Hons in Creative Music Technology from Bath Spa University and performing arts training at Stratford-upon-Avon College and Sylvia Young Theatre School.
