Mikko Karjalainen

Mikko Karjalainen has extensive work experience in various roles and industries.

From 2023 to present, they are the Founder and CTO of Operating, a SaaS tool for managing agency or consultancy operations. Their responsibilities include staffing, time tracking, analysis, proactive insights, and actions.

From 2016 to 2023, Mikko worked at Columbia Road. Mikko started as a Consultant, providing software development and team lead expertise. Mikko also contributed to sales, recruitment, professional training, and helped establish the Columbia Road Stockholm office. Later, they became a Senior Consultant and then a Managing Consultant, focusing on effective collaboration practices between software development teams and sales, marketing, and customer service organizations.

In 2019, Mikko worked as an Agile Coach at Aalto University, coaching computer science students in a software project course. Mikko assisted them in becoming successful Scrum Masters and software developers, teaching them agile ways of working.

In 2015, they served as a Research Assistant at Aalto University's computer science department, where they conducted research interviews and analysed data related to developing new mobile traffic safety services and exploring new business models.

Mikko Karjalainen completed their education from 2010 to 2013 at Ressun lukio, where they obtained an IB Diploma. In 2014, they enrolled at Aalto University, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science until 2019. Additionally, in 2016 and 2017, they participated in exchange studies at RWTH Aachen University.
