Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Matthew currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Opportunities NB since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Managing Director at Fox & Company, a boutique corporate advisory firm, from 2016 to 2022. In this role, they provided financial advice to small and mid-market businesses and government entities. Before that, Matthew was a Member of the Board of Directors at Greenstone Resource Group from 2008 to 2022, where they managed forestry and bioenergy-based assets. Matthew also worked as an Investment Specialist at Canadian Investment Bank(s) from 2000 to 2008, leading investment teams and advising on the management of substantial assets. Matthew has a strong track record in deal origination and complex negotiations.

Matthew Fox obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting/Finance from the University of New Brunswick in the years 1996-2000. Matthew then pursued further education in finance and completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program at the CFA Institute from 2003 to 2004. In 2018, Matthew Fox achieved the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from The Council for Six Sigma Certification. Matthew also holds additional certifications from the Canadian Securities Institute, including the Canadian Securities Course, Chartered Investment Manager, Conduct & Practices, Derivatives Fundamental Course, Investment Management Techniques, Portfolio Management Techniques, and Professional Financial Planning.
