Mary Oakes

Mary Oakes is an accomplished professional in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Opportunity International since May 2023 and previously held the role of Deputy Chief Executive at Embrace the Middle East, where involvement continues as a Board Trustee since October 2017. Mary's extensive experience includes positions such as Director of Supporter Relations at Innovista International, Associate Director of Leadership Giving at Habitat for Humanity International, and Head of Philanthropy at World Vision, where a notable six-month secondment to World Vision Ghana was undertaken as Grant Acquisition and Management Team Leader. Earlier career roles include Fundraising Manager at Church Mission Society and Partnership Fundraiser at Tearfund, among others. Mary holds an MBA in Equine Business Management from the Royal Agricultural University and a 2:1 (Hons) degree in Equine Science from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
