Michael Thomas is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in finance, accounting, and technology. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Tailyx AI since June 2024, Michael is focused on leveraging AI to transform market research. In addition, Michael is an advisor at Opsis - Emotion Gen AI and previously held the role of Managing Partner at Discover Up LLP, where entrepreneurial skills were honed through the founding of multiple early-stage tech startups. Michael's financial expertise was further developed at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank in vice president positions, where IFRS accounting oversight and advisory were key responsibilities. Michael also contributed to the International Accounting Standards Board as a project manager and served as a manager at Ernst & Young, specializing in financial services audit and international accounting standards. Academic credentials include a Post Graduate Program in Full Stack Web Development from Caltech and Chartered Financial Analyst certification, among others.

From Video and Audio captured through a simple camera, Opsis can decipher human emotion, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and more, in real-time, with high accuracy. Opsis uses Multi-modal Emotion Analysis (Facial, Voice, Ocular, Body Language, Remote Photoplethysmography) and Generative AI along with its proprietary data sets and patent pending AI frameworks to achieve high accuracy for interactions that can be synchronous or asynchronous, in-person or remote. Opsis was spun out of the Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), a joint research institute between the University of Illinois and A*STAR.
