Zongheng Sun

Zongheng Sun has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Vice President of Tongji Automobile Fans Association and the Design Director of Formula SAE TJU Racing Team, where they were the Exterior Group leader and focused on aerodynamic performance and machine aesthetic in CF car body design and manufacture process. Zongheng'stwo prototypes won best records in JSAE 2014 and FSC 2014 Competition. In 2014, they were an Industrial Designer at Johnson Controls, where they took part in ID15 design project for NAIAS 2015 and provided sketch, Photoshop rendering, and design support. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at General Motors as an Advanced Designer and at Cadillac as a Manufacturing Designer. In 2018, they became a FabLab 3D Technician at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Currently, they are a Creative Design Director and Senior Computational Designer at OPT Industries, as well as a Co-founder at PEAR & MULBERRY.

Zongheng Sun has a diverse educational background. From 2010 to 2015, they attended Tongji University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Automotive Design. In 2012, they completed a course in Italian Culture, Design & Society at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna. In 2018, they began their graduate studies at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, earning a Master in Design Engineering, Mobility, Product Design in 2020. During their studies at Harvard, they also cross-registered at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing a course in City Science / Sensor Technology for Responsive Environments/ Tangiable Interface in 2020. Additionally, they obtained a Master's degree in Design Engineering from Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2020. In 2020, they also earned certifications in PyTorch Essential Training: Deep Learning from LinkedIn and Introduction to User Experience Design from Georgia Institute of Technology.
