Kelsey Ferro

Kelsey Ferro is currently a Technical Associate at Opta Group, a position held since January 2024. Prior experience includes working as a Teaching Assistant for MTGN 202 Engineered Materials and as front desk staff at Colorado School of Mines from August 2019 to December 2023, where collaboration with Dr. Terry Lowe's research team occurred as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Kelsey's internship experience encompasses roles as a Metallurgical Engineering Intern at Caterpillar Inc. during summer 2023, a Metallurgy Intern at ELLWOOD in summer 2022, and a Metallurgical Intern at Nucor Steel Yamato from May to December 2021. Additional experience includes clerical and IT roles at Arthur Lakes Library and Caldwell School District, respectively. Kelsey holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, completed in December 2023, and was awarded the Ellwood Metallurgy Scholarship during the internship with ELLWOOD.
