Research Engineer at Opteran

Joe Eastwood has a diverse work experience in various engineering research roles. In 2017, they worked as a Research Intern at the Geospatial Institute in the University of Nottingham. In 2018, they had a Research Internship at the Gas Turbine and Transmissions Research Centre (G2TRC), where they focused on optimizing an oil scoop within a gas turbine. Joe also started their PHD program as a PHD Student at the Manufacturing Metrology Team in the Centre for Doctoral Training in Ultra Precision Engineering in 2018, exploring machine learning for the automation and optimization of optical coordinate measurement. During this time, they also worked as a Demonstrator at the University of Nottingham. In 2022, they joined Opteran as a Research Engineer.

Joe Eastwood completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2018. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Manufacturing Engineering from the same university, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
