Jose Pozo

Jose Pozo has a diverse work experience in the field of photonics and technology. Jose is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Optica, where they lead the corporate outreach team and focuses on building Optica's global reputation through publications and meetings. In addition, they are the CEO of PozoPhotonics, a small company managing side projects and serving as a member of the Advisory Board of @VIGOVentures in Poland as well as a private investor.

Previously, Jose held the position of Director of Technology and Innovation at EPIC - EUROPEAN PHOTONICS INDUSTRY CONSORTIUM for over six years. During their tenure, EPIC experienced significant growth in terms of corporate members and received funding from the European Commission. Jose also worked as a Senior Photonics Technology Consultant at PNO Consultants and as a Research Proposal Coordinator and Scientist Specialist at TNO.

Jose has also been involved in academic research, serving as a Post-doctoral Researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Bristol. Jose started their career as an Electro-optics Engineer intern at JDL Technologies, Inc. In summary, Jose Pozo has extensive experience in photonics, technology consulting, and research, and is currently making significant contributions as a CTO and CEO.

Jose Pozo attended the Universidad Pública de Navarra from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Master's degree in Telecom Engineering. Jose then pursued further education at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2001 to 2002, earning a Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering. Finally, they attended the University of Bristol from 2002 to 2007, where they received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
