Manjula Dissanayake has a wealth of experience in the field of data science. In 2013, they were a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University, working on the Orchestration of Renewable Integrated Generation in Neighbourhoods (ORIGIN) project. In 2015, they joined Adobe as a Computer Scientist, working on cloud-based software for Adobe's Creative Cloud. That same year, they also joined AURAVENTI LTD as a Board Director & Consultant, working on hyper local weather prediction and energy and soil moisture content prediction for high precision agriculture using Machine Learning. In 2018, they joined Tesco Bank as a Data Scientist, working with all aspects of the predictive modelling life cycle. In 2021, they joined Hubpay as a Lead Data Scientist, and in 2022 they joined Optima Partners as a Lead Data Scientist.
Manjula Dissanayake completed a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from The University of Edinburgh between 1996 and 2000. Manjula then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Information Technology from Heriot-Watt University between 2000 and 2001. After that, they returned to Heriot-Watt University to obtain a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence between 2007 and 2008. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence from Heriot-Watt University between 2008 and 2014.
