Andrew Gill has over 25 years of work experience in the IT field. Andrew started their career at Walters Hexagon as a Stock Controller. Andrew then moved on to become an Analyst/Programmer and Systems Manager at the same company, where they were responsible for designing and implementing various software applications. In 1997, they were promoted to IT Manager, overseeing all IT systems and strategies for the company.
In 2003, Andrew's employment transferred to Anixter International following the acquisition of Walters Hexagon. As an IT Manager at Anixter, they were responsible for the ASW system environment, contract negotiations, and managing a team of three AWS personnel. Andrew also had matrix management responsibilities for a conversion team.
In 2015, Andrew's employment transferred again, this time to Optimas Solutions after the divestiture of Anixter's fastener division. Andrew started as an IT Manager, responsible for all IT aspects in the EMEA and APAC regions, including the management of a global Service Desk function. Andrew was later promoted to IT Director, where they took on additional responsibilities as part of the international and IT management teams.

Andrew Gill attended Kirkby Kendal Comprehensive School from 1979 to 1986. Andrew then went on to study Physics (Pure & Applied) at The University of Manchester from 1986 to 1990, earning a BSc degree. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued at The University of Manchester and obtained an MSc degree in Microelectronic Materials & Device Technology from 1990 to 1991.
