Cheryl Brenn is an experienced leader with over 25 years in nonprofit and educational program development. Currently serving as Executive Director at Optimist International since August 2021, Cheryl previously held the position of Chief International Programs Officer at Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership from April 2007 to August 2021, where efforts focused on empowering youth globally through leadership programs. In earlier roles, Cheryl contributed as Vice President of Strategic Development at The Greenwood Co., Deputy Director of Marketing and Member Relations at New York State School Boards Association, and Director of Professional Services at New York State Recreation and Park Society. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Leadership from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on International Management from American International College.

Optimist International
Optimist International is an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.
