Optimist International
Jim Boyd has extensive work experience in the field of radio journalism and public speaking. Jim started their career in 1980 as a broadcast journalist at Jim Boyd Radio, where they worked for three and a half decades. In 1990, they became the News Director at WMT Radio until 2001. From 2001 to 2016, they served as the News Director at WHO Radio. During this time, they also developed a public speaking business, focusing on teaching and mentoring individuals to improve their lives. In 2016, they joined Optimist International as the Director of Strategic Growth and also served as a faculty member.
Jim Boyd attended Westminster College (PA) from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and Broadcasting.

Optimist International
Optimist International is an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.
