Ricardo A. Anawate

Ricardo A. Anawate currently serves as Vice President of Operations at Optimus Steel, LLC since May 2018. Previously, Anawate held significant roles at Gerdau Long Steel North America from 1990 to 2017, including Vice President and General Manager of the Jackson, TN Steel Mill, responsible for overseeing production and P&L for a facility producing 500,000 tons of steel annually. Anawate also managed the Beaumont, TX Steel Mill with a production capacity of 600,000 tons per year. Earlier in the career, Anawate served as Steelmaking Manager at both the Whitby and Cambridge Steel Mills and was elected as a Board Member for the AIST, representing the Steel Making and Foundry Technology Committees. Anawate's educational background includes a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and courses at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Law School and Ivey Business School.
