John Nestoriak

John Nestoriak has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. John started their career in 1995 as a Software Engineer at The Telephone Connection and later worked at Thomson Financial as a Software Engineer. In 2000, they founded Collaborative Content, LLC and designed and developed tvtome.com. John sold the company to CNET Networks in 2005. John then worked as a Software Engineer at CNET Networks before joining A2E, LLC as the Owner. In 2008, they joined Blue Water Media as a Senior Programmer.

From 2011 onwards, John Nestoriak worked at Optoro, where they held multiple roles. John started as a Senior Software Engineer and played a crucial role in the transition of the product from an in-house system to a client-facing SaaS offering. John then became a Dev Lead and led a team in re-architecting the system from a monolith to microservices. Later, they took on the role of Principal Lead, where they focused on architectural guidance and API design for client integrations. Currently, they serve as a Principal Engineer, guiding architecture and development practices, with a focus on scaling and stability. John also leads efforts to migrate the monolith onto Kubernetes with minimal customer impact and mentors the team in risk mitigation practices to enhance system availability.

John Nestoriak completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Penn State University from 1988 to 1992. John then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University from 1994 to 1997.
