Orange County Comptroller
Malica Williams is an experienced accounting professional with a diverse background in auditing, property accounting, and financial management. Currently serving as an Auditor and Assistant Manager of Property Accounting at the Orange County Comptroller since August 2014, Malica has also led operations as the Chief Executive Officer at Williams Convenient Tax Service since April 2003. Previous roles include Accounting Manager at Mauiva and Controller/HR Manager at Florida Clinical Research Center, as well as Asset Manager at Ocwen Financial Corporation. Malica holds a Master’s degree in Accounting & Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.

The Comptroller is an elected official answering directly to the citizens of Orange County and serves as a check and balance for the public in the use of County resources. This results in heightened levels of transparency, the protection of public assets, and the greatest accounting integrity possible. Services performed by the County Comptroller can be classified into three broad categories: Financial, Audit, and Records Administration. The Comptroller’s specific roles include serving as chief financial officer, county auditor, Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, recorder of official records, and custodian of county funds and records.
