Mary-Joy Coburn has extensive experience in communications and marketing roles. Mary-Joy is currently the Director of Communications at Orange County Employees Retirement System since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Communications at Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District from 2019 to 2023, where they managed a team and oversaw community outreach and education programs. Mary-Joy Coburn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UC Irvine. Mary-Joy also has a Certificate in Television News Broadcasting from the Academy of Radio and Television Broadcasting. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Dale Carnegie Training. Additionally, they have certifications in Special District Leadership Academy from the California Special District Association in 2018, EOC Management Training from the Orange County Emergency Management Division in 2017, and Vector Control Technician - Categories A, B, C, D from the California Department of Public Health.
