Matt Eakin, CISSP, CCSP, CEH has extensive experience in the cybersecurity and IT fields. Matt started their career in 1995 as a Technical Support Engineer at Hawking Technology. Matt then worked as a System Administrator at Aavid Thermalloy from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they served as a System Engineer at Diamond Link, Inc. from 2000 to 2005. Matt then joined Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. as an IT Manager, where they worked for 13 years until 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Cyber Security at Orange County Employees Retirement System.
Matt Eakin earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Management Information Systems from San Diego State University, completing their education from 1990 to 1994. Matt has also obtained various certifications throughout their career, including the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)² in 2021, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC Certifications in 2019, GIAC Critical Controls Certification (GCCC) from GIAC Certifications in 2018, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in 2017, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2017, Microsoft Certified Professional in 2017, and ITIL Foundations v3 - IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2015.

The Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS) provides retirement, death, disability, and cost-of living benefits to employees of the County of Orange and certain County special districts and agencies. OCERS is governed by a nine-member Board of Retirement that is responsible for managing a $21 billion dollar fund.
