Shane Sherwood is assigned as Assistant Chief of Field Operations North. Previously Chief Sherwood served as the Division Chief of Division 2, which is responsible for the City of Irvine, John Wayne Airport, and the University of California Irvine. Chief Sherwood has been in the fire service for 28 years and has progressed through the ranks of Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief, and Assistant Chief of Field Operations. Chief Sherwood has also served in a variety of assignments throughout his tenure including, Air Operations, Hazardous Materials, Public Information, Fire Academy Coordinator, Fire Investigator, Task Force Leader for CA Task Force 5 and Plans Section Chief for Cal Fire IMT 6. Shane is currently a member of OCFA’s All-Hazards Incident Management Team Incident Commander.
