Jane Watrel is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and journalism. Currently serving as Communications Manager for Orange County Government since May 2019, Jane develops and executes communication strategies for Mayor Jerry L. Demings. Prior to this role, Jane worked as a Social Media Specialist and Public Information Officer for the Orange County, Florida Sheriff's Office from June 2012 to April 2019, where responsibilities included managing social media and handling public records. Jane's journalism career includes positions at NBC Washington, MSNBC/NBC News Channel, NBC News, and WFTV, where reporting expertise encompassed federal government, military, and economic issues. Jane holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Communications/PR from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Penn State University.
