Michael Lawrence

Michael Lawrence has an extensive law enforcement career spanning over three decades, currently serving as an Investigator at the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department since March 2021 and holding the position of First Sergeant Patrol Commander since June 2016. Previous roles include Deputy Sheriff at the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, where responsibilities involved patrolling and protecting citizens. Michael has also held leadership positions as Chief of Police at Bowman Police Department and Assistant Chief of Police at St. Matthews Police Department. Earlier in the career, Michael served in various capacities, including Deputy Sheriff with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and a U.S. Army service member. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Columbia College, earned between June 2018 and June 2020.
