Jesus M. Gonzalez

Jesus M. Gonzalez, PhD has a strong background in research and scientific roles. Jesus M. is currently working as a Principal Scientist at OraSure Technologies since May 2022. Previously, they co-founded Vessel in 2017 and served as the Chief Scientist, where they built the scientific infrastructure of the company, developed assays, and expanded the Science group. Jesus M. also worked as a Scientific Consultant at CryoConcepts, LP from 2016 to 2017. Jesus has experience as a Research Scientist at TBBiosciences, Inc. from 2013 to 2016, where they played a key role in the development of rapid serological assays for TB. Jesus M. worked as a Research Scientist III and Adjunct Professor at Lehigh University from 2007 to 2015, where they managed laboratories, conducted protein identification, and taught courses in Bioengineering. Prior to that, they conducted research as a Researcher at Supercritical Solutions LLC from 2005 to 2007 and as a Teaching Assistant at Lehigh University from 2002 to 2004.

Jesus M. Gonzalez PhD completed their education in Chemical Engineering. Jesus M. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Universidad del Atlántico. Jesus M. then pursued a Master of Science degree followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Lehigh University. In addition to their formal education, they received certifications in various fields, including Introduction to Genomic Technologies and The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Johns Hopkins University through Coursera. Jesus M. also received training in QTRAP Pro-Pro ID/PTM and QTRAP SM compound screening from APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS.
