Walter DeSocio has a diverse work experience, spanning over several industries and positions. Walter began their career at AT&T in 1991, where they worked as Vice President-Law until 1999. After that, they joined Concert as the General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, where they worked until 2002. Walter then moved to Internap Network Services Corporation, serving as Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary from 2002 to 2005. From 2005 to 2006, Walter worked at GTECH in the same role. Walter then joined Lottomatica as Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary from 2006 to 2007. In 2010, they joined Utica College as the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel, responsible for managing all legal affairs, governance matters, and regulatory affairs. Their latest position was at Pompeia Consulting, where they worked as a Managing Consultant starting in 2013. Lastly, Walter DeSocio worked at Orbis Education as the Chief Compliance Officer from 2016 onwards.

Walter DeSocio completed their college preparatory education at The Peddie School from 1969 to 1973. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science, Philosophy, and Religion at Colgate University, which they completed in four years from 1973 to 1977. Subsequently, Walter attended New York Law School, where they obtained their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from 1977 to 1980. Finally, they furthered their legal education at the University of Cambridge, specializing in International Law, and earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree between 1980 and 1982.
