Doris Macharia

Doris K Macharia currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Global Programs at Orbis International, a role held since July 2021. Previously, Doris held significant leadership positions, including Regional Director for East and Southern Africa at FHI 360 from May 2017 to July 2021, and Health and Nutrition Consultant at UNICEF South Africa from September 2015 to April 2017. Additional experience includes serving as Chief of Party at The Futures Group International, Inc., and Senior Regional Technical Advisor for HIV Prevention at FHI 360. Doris also worked at RTI International as a Senior HIV/AIDS Specialist and was the Country Director at ICAP at Columbia University. Early in Doris's career, positions included Technical Advisor for HIV Care and Treatment at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Senior House Medical Officer at Kenyatta National Hospital. Educational qualifications include a PG Diploma in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town, an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a Masters in Medicine from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Nairobi.
