Gilles Clavie started his professional career in 1993 as a Consolidation and Group Financial Reporting Manager in an agro-industry company. His experience with hospitality industry began 19 years ago in Accor Group, when he became EMEA Reporting Director for the business and leisure hotels segment. In 2011 Gilles joined Orbis S.A. as a member of the Executive Committee.

Since 2014, Gilles Clavie is a President of the Management Board & CEO of Orbis, an international group with over 4000 employees, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Under his leadership, in 2019 Orbis entered a new chapter of its development by transforming into a largest group investing in hotel assets in Poland and Eastern Europe, strengthening its leading position in the region.

In 2020, Gilles Clavie was appointed President of the Management Board and CEO of the AccorInvest Group, an investor, owner and hotel operator, present with 911 hotels in 31 countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Gilles has been awarded among “The 20 most efficient CEOs of the Warsaw Stock Exchange” (mWIG40 index) by Harvard Business Review Polska & TMS Brokers. Under Gilles leadership Orbis was nominated and awarded by most recognized titles in Poland and EE for its performance, energy, transparency, CSR approach, development of powerful brands & concepts in hospitality.

Orbis Hotel Group

Orbis SA is a Poland-based company that is principally engaged in the hotel, transportation and tourism sectors. It operates two business segments, including hotels & restaurants and transport. The Company offers hotel services, domestic and international coach transport, and car rental and lease. It also acts as a travel agent, tour operator and car parks operator. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated a network of 32 hotels with 7, 011 rooms in 20 cities. Hotels of the Company operate under Accor brands: Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis and Etap, as well as under the Polish brand Orbis Hotels and Holiday Inn in Warsaw. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated through several subsidiaries, including Hekon Hotele Ekonomiczne SA, Orbis Corporate Sp. z o.o and Orbis Transport Sp. z o.o., among others. As of February 21, 2012, its parent entity was Accor SA, which held a 51.55% stake in the capital. In May 2013, the Company sold a 96% stake in Orbis Transport Sp. z o.o.
