Mary McRae has extensive experience in product management, solution architecture, and project management. Mary has worked in various roles, starting with XyEnterprise as a Manager of Sales Engineering in 1995, where they led a team in developing and executing XML-aware editorial and publishing software demonstrations. Mary then joined DMSi in 1998 as Vice President and Principal XML Technologist.
In 2004, Mary joined OASIS as the Director of Standards Development and OASIS Technical Committee Administrator. In this role, they provided support to OASIS committees and worked with TC chairs to guide them through the technical process. Mary also served on the Board of Directors Process Committee.
Mary then joined Virtual, Inc. in 2011 as Vice President of Technical Working Group Support. In this position, they provided strategic and operational oversight for client Technical Committees and Working Groups, and project management and Secretariat support for clients focused on producing technical standards.
From 2011 to 2012, Mary worked at Connected Media Experience as the Chair and Project Manager for the Technical Working Group developing a standard for enhanced digital media packages.
In 2012, Mary worked at Mulberry Technologies, Inc. as an Associate Consultant to STM publishers, assisting with the implementation or enhancement of XML technology solutions. Mary also worked at Dartmouth Journal Services as the Director of Publishing Technology, responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of technology projects related to publishing.
Mary then joined IQ Solutions in 2014 as an XML Strategist and Technical Project Manager. Mary helped customers create, manage, and deliver targeted content, with a major project involving product ownership of content for SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration).
Since 2016, Mary has been working at Orbis Technologies, Inc., where they took on various roles. Initially, they were a Senior Project Manager and Business Analyst, working with clients to implement RSuite, an enterprise-strength publishing platform. Mary then became a Program Manager, responsible for planning and developing scope, deliverables, and resources for new initiatives. Later, they served as a Senior Solutions Architect, modeling solutions for content creators, maintainers, and publishers. Most recently, Mary has been working as a Principal Solutions Architect and Product Director, collecting and analyzing business needs to model new products and solutions.
In 2023, Mary joined Contiem as the Director of Product Management and Principal Solutions Architect.
Mary McRae obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Business/eBusiness from the University of Phoenix between 2002 and 2004. Mary also pursued Music Education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, although the dates are not provided.
In terms of certifications, Mary became a Project Management Professional (PMP) in December 2015 through the Project Management Institute (PMI). In June 2019, they obtained the certification of Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. Additionally, in July 2019, they acquired the designation of Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist from the same institution. Lastly, Mary achieved the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from the Scrum Alliance in July 2020.
