Benjamin Rhodes

Benjamin Rhodes is a Machine Learning Researcher at Orbital Materials since May 2023. Prior to this role, Benjamin completed a post-doctoral position in Machine Learning for Genomics at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, and earned a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Edinburgh, where a spotlight paper was published at Neurips 2020, representing the top 4% of submissions. Benjamin's research focuses on learning and sampling deep energy-based models, with applications in mutual information estimation and Bayesian inference. Additional experience includes a scientist internship at BenevolentAI, software development at TPP, and seminar leadership at the University of Bristol. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in machine learning/data science from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Bristol.
