Diego Vargas Blanco, Ph.D.

Diego Vargas Blanco, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Diego is currently employed as a Scientist I at Orbital Therapeutics since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital from January 2021 to February 2023. Diego also has experience as a Doctoral Student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from February 2016 to December 2020. In addition, they worked as an Environmental Consultant at Hamilton BM - Abogados from November 2012 to June 2014 and as a Temporary Lab Instructor at Universidad Católica de Santa María from August 2013 to December 2013. Diego Vargas Blanco, Ph.D. also served as a Researcher/Head of Research at Novagri S.A.C. from October 2010 to June 2012.

Diego Vargas Blanco, Ph.D. began their educational journey in 2004 at Universidad Católica de Santa María, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology Engineering. Diego successfully completed the program in 2009. In 2014, Diego enrolled at Worcester Polytechnic Institute to further their studies. Here, they earned a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from 2014 to 2016. Building upon their master's degree, Diego continued their academic pursuits at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, culminating in a Ph.D. in Biology and Biotechnology in 2021.
