Paul Thompson

Mr Thompson has over 35 years’ experience in the mining industry, having previously worked with Anglo American, De Beers, Newcrest, Coffey Mining, Alacer Gold and AECOM before joining Perseus in 2015 as Group General Manager Technical Services.

Since joining Perseus, Mr Thompson has led the completion of the Sissingué and Yaouré Feasibility Studies, both of which are now successfully operating mines. He currently heads up the Exploration, Studies and Development Teams driving organic and inorganic growth opportunities to sustain their existing operations and to add new operations.

Mr Thompson has an Honours B.Sc. degree in Physical Geography and Geology and a M.Sc. in Engineering Geology. He has worked on mining operations and projects in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Indonesia, Turkey, Philippines and Chile in senior technical services and project management roles.
