James Nielsen is an experienced educational leader with a career spanning over three decades in various roles within Orchard View Schools. Currently serving as Superintendent since January 2015, James coordinates the implementation of the district's strategic plan and strengthens community relations. Previously, James was the Principal of Orchard View Middle School from July 2003 to December 2015, where a focus on holistic, inclusive learning and curriculum direction was emphasized. Earlier roles include Assistant Principal at Orchard View High School and several teaching and administrative positions within the district. James holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University, a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University, and an Associate of Arts from Muskegon Community College.
