Lead Geospatial Data Engineer at Ordnance Survey

Mike Gill has a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial data engineering. Mike started their career as a GIS Researcher at Lancaster University in 1997, where they conducted research in GIS. In 1998, they joined ESRI (UK) as a GIS Consultant, working on various GIS projects until 2003. In the same year, they joined Ordnance Survey as a Senior GIS Consultant. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Geospatial Data Engineer at Ordnance Survey, a position they have held since May 2018.

Mike Gill obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Hull University in 1992. Prior to that, they attended Leicester University, where they completed an MA degree in Landscape Studies (History & Archaeology) in 1995, and an MSc degree in Geographical Information Systems in 1997. Mike's secondary education was completed at Ormskirk Grammar School from 1981 to 1988.
