Tim Manners has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tim started their career in 1995 at Wickes as a Front End Supervisor, where they handled queries, trained new staff, and monitored stock levels. In 2000, they joined Ordnance Survey, where they initially worked as a Senior Geographic Information Developer, providing technical support to customers and mentoring junior team members. From 2012 to 2014, Tim served as a Senior Geographic Information Developer in the Innovation Labs division, championing the services offered and delivering technical solutions. Tim then transitioned to the role of Front-End Web Developer/Software Engineer, utilizing agile methodologies to write clean JavaScript code. In 2015, Tim became a Senior Technology Labs Engineer, responsible for incorporating the latest technology into OS solutions and guiding strategic decisions. Tim eventually progressed to becoming a Senior Technology Labs Engineer/Research & Innovation Scientist, where they provided technical expertise and consultancy to public sector members and the developer community, while also developing self-service experiences and driving customer adoption of spatial data. Tim's most recent role at Ordnance Survey is the Developer Experience Lead, starting in 2022.

Tim Manners earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Cartography from Oxford Brookes University, completing their education from 1996 to 1999.
