Perri Mcdaniel

Council at Oregon Food Bank

Perri has been working to create community food security in Oregon for over 20 years. Perri lives on the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Reservation and is an involved Tribal member. Currently she is running for Grand Ronde Tribal Council so she can help achieve food security on a policy level. Perri is passionate about producing local food, including traditional First Foods that are culturally relevant. Perri also spent many years working as the food-security coordinator for the Klamath Tribes, where she created community gardens, taught garden education classes and taught about Native First Foods. Perri planted the seeds for a Tribal community garden in Grand Ronde a long time back. Now that it exists in the community, Perri makes sure to help take care of it, bring people out to it and distribute the produce to the families that live in Tribal housing.
