Venice Mason

Council at Oregon Food Bank

Venice is a racial-justice and food-security activist in the Cottage Grove area. She has volunteered with the Rural Organizing Project for years and is deeply involved in their work. Venice volunteers and helps distribute food at the local food pantries in Cottage Grove and knows how food insecurity shows up in her community. Venice has her own garden at home so she can supplement her weekly groceries with the produce she grows. Venice is very passionate about racial justice in rural communities. Venice sees that the differences in communities tend to ease away when everyone has access to resources, particularly food. Venice is excited to be part of the Policy Leadership Council so she can help address the root causes of hunger locally and statewide.
