Clarence Chio

Clarence Chio has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Clarence co-founded Unit21 in 2018 and served as the CTO/President. In 2019, they became a Lecturer/Faculty member for Applied Machine Learning at the University of California, Berkeley. Clarence was also an author for O'Reilly Media in 2017. Currently, they are a Council Member for Forbes Technology Council since 2021. In 2022, Clarence was a student at Macro Engineering Fellowship, where they gained expertise in building smart contracts and deep understanding of EVM, Solidity, and tokenomics. Previously, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Shape Security from 2014 to 2017 and as a Security Consultant at Oracle from 2015 to 2016. Clarence also played the role of a Technical Advisor for various tech startups, including Ravello Inc., Veertu Inc., and CYPHER Cyber Security Consultancy Limited. In addition, Clarence worked as a Community Speaker for Intel Corporation from 2014 to 2015 and as a Software Engineer at Zazzle from 2013 to 2014.

Clarence Chio holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. Clarence also completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same institution. Prior to their university education, Clarence attended Hwa Chong Institution. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the certification of Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer from Triplebyte in October 2020.
