Dean Roman has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dean started their career in 1993 as a Lab Assistant Supervisor at California State University, Sacramento, where they managed and staffed computer labs. Dean then worked as a Technical Team Programming Member at American Management Systems, where they contributed to projects for various state agencies. Dean joined North American Mortgage Company in 1997 as a UNIX Technical Team Leader, leading a team in delivering data to customers and automating data loads.

In 1999, Dean became an IT Manager at Alantro Communications, where they designed and maintained data centers and infrastructure services across the country. Dean successfully led and managed an IT team supporting desktops and data centers for three design sites, resulting in the acquisition of the company by Texas Instruments.

At Texas Instruments, Dean continued to work as an IT Manager, leading the IT team in supporting customers and maintaining a data center. Dean implemented a NAS and a firewall to establish a secure network environment in the electronics lab and built a database system for engineers to save and display data.

In 2005, Dean started their own IT consulting business, Roman Computer Systems, and became profitable within a year. Dean developed new business and implemented short-term and long-term goals for the business.

Dean joined O'Reilly Media in 2007 and took on various roles, including Senior Systems Administrator and IT Manager. Dean is currently serving as the Director of Information Technology, responsible for overseeing IT operations.

Throughout their career, Dean has demonstrated expertise in IT management, infrastructure design, team leadership, and project coordination. Dean has a track record of successfully implementing technology solutions and achieving business objectives.

Dean Roman attended California State University-Sacramento from 1991 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. Dean'sprogram of study included subjects related to computer science and business.
