Brenna Davis is the current CEO of the Organically Grown Company. Prior to their current position, they served as Vice President of Social & Environmental Responsibility and Communications for PCC Community Markets from April 2017 to February 2022. In this role, they inaugurated the organization’s first social and environmental responsibility strategy, resulting in establishing the organization as an industry leader in social and environmental responsibility.
Davis has been responsible for the organization's sustainability efforts, including reducing impact related to climate, green building, waste, water and resource conservation. Under their leadership, the organization achieved net carbon positive store operations, 100% renewable energy, and Living Building Challenge Petal Certification.
Brenna has also been responsible for the organization's social responsibility efforts, including community outreach and giving. Brenna designed a strategy designed to build brand trust and leverage impact, which included developing a BIPOC incubator program in partnership with a local non-profit and organizing a $1M gift to the Washington Farmland Trust.
In addition, they have overseen the organization's product sustainability standards effort, ensuring that products on the shelf are good for people and the planet. And they have led the organization's diversity, equity and inclusion strategic effort, including integrating DEI into culture, community and consumer goods.
As a result of their work, they earned a Fast Company World Changing Ideas award plus was named as the #1 most sustainable independent grocer in the US for two years running.
Brenna Davis has a wide range of educational experience, from community college to a business school. Brenna started their education at Shoreline Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree. Brenna then transferred to Western Washington University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry.
After working for some time, Davis decided to return to school to earn their Master’s of Science in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Antioch University Seattle. While they were pursuing their degree, they also completed an Executive Development Program at the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business.
Upon completing their Master’s degree, Davis became certified as a Human Potential Coach through the Human Potential Institute. Brenna also has certifications in the Virginia Mason Production System (VMPS) for Leaders through the Virginia Mason Institute and in Global Reporting Initiative ESG Reporting through the Global Reporting Initiative. Additionally, they are an Advanced Communicator Silver through Toastmasters International.
