Ildefonso Campos Velarde currently serves as Director and Head of the Industry Inspections Cell at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), where responsibilities include executing short-term planning for industrial inspections and supervising inspector teams on technical and treaty-related issues. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant for a PhD project at Eindhoven University of Technology, focusing on high-temperature hydrodynamics for biomass gasification, and as a Technical Specialist at DuPont, where Ildefonso led technical projects in Latin America. Early career efforts involved research assistance at Centro de Investigación en Polímeros, conducting pilot scale trials and process improvements for polymer production. Ildefonso holds a PhD in Chemical Process Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology, a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from TU Dortmund University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
