Maricarmen Plata is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as Secretaria Acceso a Derechos y Equidad at Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA) since March 2021, Maricarmen is also a member of the board at HOPSA, S. A. since November 2019. Previously, Maricarmen co-founded Plan B Divorce, a platform providing resources for divorce and co-parenting, and was a founding partner at Virtù Atelier Legal until January 2021. From October 2003 to December 2018, Maricarmen was a partner at Anzola Robles & Associates, specializing in corporate and tax law. Maricarmen started career as an associate lawyer at SUCRE ARIAS REYES. Academically, Maricarmen holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law from the University of Cambridge and a degree in Law and Political Science from Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua. Additionally, Maricarmen is pursuing diplomas in Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods at Universidad Latina de Panamá and International Tax Law at Leiden University.
