Mike Hess

Mike Hess holds the position of Senior Vice President of Product Engineering at OrganOx, focusing on organ transplant technology since March 2024. Additionally, Mike serves as Editor in Chief for Pulse Magazine at IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and advises Cognition Corporation on medical device development. As an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota and Owner of Echo Point Innovation, LLC, Mike drives medical device innovation. Previously, Mike excelled at Medtronic over a 32-year career, occupying multiple leadership roles such as Vice President of Corporate Technology and Innovation and Vice President of Heart Failure R&D, where contributions included advancements in cardiac devices and therapeutic options. Mike's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas.
