Nate Sommer

Nate Sommer is an experienced banking executive currently serving as the Regional President for the Southeast Region at Origin Bank since December 2023, focusing on corporate and commercial banking. Prior to this role, Nate held the position of Gulf Coast Regional President at SmartBank from April 2021 to December 2023, managing various markets across Alabama and Florida and overseeing commercial, private, and government banking. With a significant tenure at BBVA in the USA from June 2009 to April 2021, Nate held multiple roles, including Market CEO for the Gulf Coast Region and Market President for Northwest Florida, where expertise spanned corporate banking, wealth management, and commercial real estate. Nate's banking career began at JPMorgan Chase as a Branch Manager from May 2006 to December 2008. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Dayton and completion of an Executive Education Program at The University of Texas at Austin.
