Steve Barnhart

Steve Barnhart has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Steve started their career as a National Bank Examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 1980 and continued in that role until 1985. Steve then worked as a Vice President at Charter Bank for a short period in 1985. From 1986 to 1988, they served as a Senior Loan Officer at First National Bank of Huntsville. Following that, they rejoined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a National Bank Examiner from 1988 to 1995. Steve then joined Amegy Bank as the Chief Credit Officer, a position they held until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Senior Credit Officer at IBERIABANK. Steve then became the Executive Vice President/Chief Credit Underwriting Officer at Cadence Bank, N.A. from 2013 to 2021. Currently, they are the Regional Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer at Origin Bank since 2021. Steve also has experience as a Banker/Instructor at the Texas A&M University / Commercial Banking Program since 2015.

Steve Barnhart attended Texas State University from 1976 to 1980. Steve earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Finance.
