Heikki Heiskanen

Heikki Heiskanen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the biofuels and biorefinery sectors. Currently serving as Chief Operating Activist and Co-owner at Origin by Ocean since January 2022, Heikki focuses on developing biorefinery technology from marine biomass, aiming to produce valuable products while promoting ocean health and sustainability. Prior to this role, Heikki held various leadership positions at Neova Group from September 2014 to December 2021, managing biofuel operations with an annual turnover of 80M€ and leading teams across multiple business lines. Additional experience includes advisory roles in biorefinery startups, board membership at SCANDBIO AB, and consultancy at Pöyry Management Consulting and UPM. Heikki holds an M.Sc. in Business Economics of Forestry from the University of Helsinki.
